The Challenge

  • HBC Inc., provide internet, cable and telephone services to 11,000 residential users and 2,000 business users in south east Minnesota. 
  • HBC needed to deploy an easy to manage email security solution to protect customers from spam.
  • Initially, HBC relied on Postini for spam filtering but found this solution to be unsatisfactory. "With Postini we could only filter incoming email," said James Brown, a network analyst with HBC.
